Protiviti provides over 1 million meals

On June 15, at a meal-packaging event it hosted in Orlando with it’s incoming class of 2015 summer interns, global consulting firm Protiviti packaged over 100,000 meals for Stop Hunger Now. The event helped Protiviti eclipse — four months ahead of schedule — the goal of providing one million meals through the year-long ‘i on Hunger‘ initiative it launched in the fall of 2014.
Overall, Protiviti packaged and, in some cases, delivered meals through 63 events in 16 countries, with thousands of its employees and volunteers from over 100 of its clients companies participating. The consulting firm collaborated with 30 nonprofits, including Stop Hunger Now, that have delivered meals to hungry people.
“While reaching the one million goal is an incredible feat, we also recognize that hunger does not stop, and neither will we,” says Joseph Tarantino, president and CEO of Protiviti. “Protiviti plans to keep providing meals to those in need and continuing to make a positive impact on the world’s most vulnerable people.”
Rod Brooks, President and CEO of Stop Hunger Now, says that hunger “is solvable and is the common thread among the world’s most challenging issues”. “Targeting hunger,” he says, provides “leverage and hope to every other cause, including poverty, disease, education and the welfare of women and children.”
Protiviti plans to conduct another 25 ‘i on Hunger’ events in the U.S., as well as meal-packaging events in six other countries.
