Stop Hunger Now Responds to Ebola Outbreak

Stop Hunger Now continues to provide food and donated aid to partners in Sierra Leone and Liberia in response to the outbreak of the Ebola virus in West Africa.

Stop Hunger Now U.S. and Stop Hunger Now Southern Africa already have shipped over 4 million meals to the region, along with other critical supplies and donated aid such as medical gloves, face masks and personal-protection equipment.

To distribute the meals and supplies, Stop Hunger Now is working with partners Ganta United Methodist Hospital, Convoy of Hope, Reach Now International, Salesian Missions, New Harvest Ministries, Final Command Ministries and Liberia Baptist Missionary and Educational Convention in Sierra Leone and Liberia.

“The results of the intervention of the Western countries is beginning to be felt,” says Friar Fr. Nicholas Ciarapica of Salesian Missions in Monrovia. “We are building more centers for people infected and providing more beds. Unfortunately it seems that the help is not yet enough. Above all, there is a shortage of doctors, health-care workers, and equipment to run the centers.”
